MEDIA ADVISORY

MEDIA ACCREDITATION

1.    Online Registration & Onsite Registration

Media representatives wishing to cover the 41st ASEAN Economic Ministers (AEM) Meeting and Related Meetings, ASEAN Economic Ministers (AEM) Consultations (as follow: China, Japan, Korea, +3, Australia, New Zealand, and India), ASEAN Investment Area Council (AIA) ASEAN Free Trade Area Council (AFTA and ASEAN Mekong Basin Development Cooperation (AMBDC) can register online during 27 July-6 August 2009 at http://www.41stAEM.org. Visit media representatives should ensure that their passports are valid for at least another 6 months upon their entry into Thailand.

The Media Secretariat highly recommends online registration. Onsite registration may take 6 hours or more for document verification before accreditation can be granted. The procedure for online registration is as follows:

1.    A media member submits a duly completed online media registration form with the following attachments (File sizes should not exceed 500 KB):
   1.1.  Passport-sized color photograph in .jpeg format at 300 dpi resolution
   1.2.  Valid affiliation ID card or Press Card issued by the Thai Government Public Relations Department in .jpeg format
   1.3.  Letter of Assignment addressed to the Media Secretariat of 41st ASEAN Economic Ministers (AEM) Meeting and Related Meetings and undersigned by the Editor of an authorized representative of the media agency in .jpeg or .pdf file. Please note that only one letter should be issued by each agency, including the names and positions of all media members who will actually represent the agency during the Mettings.

2.    The accreditation letter will be sent to the same e-mail address as soon as the registration/reactivation is processed and approved. The accreditation letter will contain your four-digit media ID number (M-XXXX).

The Media will receive an acknowledgement letter upon submitting the online registration form. Once the application is approved, the Media Secretariat will send and accreditation letter to the applicant via the registered e-mail. Therefore, each applicant must provide a valid e-mail address through which he/she may be directly contacted. Please note that visiting media members must ensure that their passports remain valid for no less than 6 months upon their entry into Thailand. Those who need a visa for traveling to Thailand should present this accreditation letter to any Royal Thai Embassy/Consulate-General in their country for issuance of a type-M visa (Single Entry)
